Sam and Anne's love story started on a dating app, and it's even more special that they were able to find each other despite the challenges of COVID-19.

The fact that they didn't quite meet up on their initial plans just adds to the romance of their story.

Nevertheless, they want to thank Coffee Meets Bagel for bringing them together.

This Pho place, Local Pho in Sawyer Yards, is where Sam and Anne went for their first date. She was trying to be cute by ordering a small bowl 🤪 while he had a large bowl of Pho + Coke.


They sat in the patio area and enjoyed their meal while talking about how nervous Anne was to meet a very special gentleman, Mr. Toad, for the first time.


She had a feeling that she had to give Mr. Toad a very good first impression; or else, she would be out of the game. Mr. Toad’s approval is paramount.


The first date went well and by the end of the night, Mr. Toad has given his approval of Anne.

The handsome gentleman on the left hindsight is Mr. Toad. He’s the love of their life! A 10-years old male Boston Terrier who gets all of their love and attention.


Toad loves foods, walk in the park, some good naps and destroying his beds and toys.


He can be the sweetest baby - all mellow, moody and clingy - but on a handful occasion he has shown them that he could be a tough, fierce and very possessive guard dog. It depends on the weather LOL!


Toad fell in love with Anne instantly, the very first night they were introduced. At this point, Toad loves Anne more than he loves Sam - the pic says it all, right?!

December 2022 is Sam & Anne’s first Christmas together!


They had their first Christmas tree and had so much fun putting all the ornaments and decorations. Sam was in charge for the outdoor decorations with lights, garlands, and wreaths - while Anne was responsible for the indoor. As for Toad, he supervised them and actively gave them his expert comments from time to time.


They loved that Christmas tree so much, they ended up replacing it with the new one the next year 😂 (with the better one of course).

In October 2023, Sam & Anne went for a 2-weeks vacation around Europe. As per itinerary, they would visit Rome, Florence, Zurich, Prague, Krakow, and Paris.


It was exciting because it would be Sam’s first time in Europe and he’s been wanting to go for some time. He was just waiting for the best (and free) tour guide available to take him there, simply put, he was waiting for Anne.


They had so much fun in Rome, with all the great foods (pizzas, pastas, and gelatos), the tour to Colosseum, Fontana di Trevi, Roman Forum, Pantheon, The St. Peters Basilica and Italy in general. But an unfortunate incident happened in Rome, when Sam twisted his ankle during the Colosseum Tour (yeah, the very first day). It wasnt too bad, so they kinda ignored it for a while.


By the time they were in Switzerland, Sam started to feel uncomfortable and severe pain on his foot - but they managed to spent some days in Zurich before they moved to Prague.


After spending the first night in Prague, Sam wasnt able to move - it was so bad they even got this goofy looking European crutches to help Sam to walk.


They got to cut the trip short due to this incident, but hey, now they have a very good reason to go back to Europe in the future!

For every great event, theres always a behind the scene story to spice it up, so here’s theirs:


It was Monday, October 18th, 2023 - and they have decided to go back home the next day. Everything was ready and set; flight was rebooked, wheelchair for airport transportation was arranged and all of their bags were packed.


Later that day, Anne went to get some foods for their lunch from the nearby restaurant - leaving Sam by himself in the hotel room.


They had their lunch and nothing unordinary so far - Anne then got Sam situated in bed so that he could get some nap since he barely able to sleep the night before because of the pain on his knee and ankle.


She was about to lie down beside him and to her surprise, he popped this beautiful wooden ring box from under the pillow and PROPOSSED 💍.


She was aghast that she couldnt even think - and instead of answering him right away, she kept asking about where he kept that ring was the whole time??!!


Anne was very adamant to know where he kept that ring and demanded an answer, but Sam insisted that she need to answer his question first, before getting her answer - so SHE said YES!


They kissed and hugged for what feels like hours - full of happiness and some happy tears too!! Both was grinning from ear to ear while replying all congratulation messages from family and friends - blissful from being so in love.


That was their engagement story! It’s nothing like the cheesy romcom movie, but it’s unique on its own way.


FYI, he kept that ring in a hidden compartment in the backpack that he took everywhere they went. Sam was the Frodo to Annes most precious ring - TLOTR geeks will understand 😜.

Few weeks after the engagement day, they finally decided the date for the wedding - a special day between Sam’s birthday and Christmas day - December 21st, 2024!
